Kate Ashcraft, PhD, is a Research Science Liaison at The University of North Carolina Chapel Hill Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center. Dr. Ashcraft works with Solid Tumor investigators to identify the highest value industry partners and develops strong clinical collaborations. She also assists investigators in developing various documents associated with clinical trial development and maintenance including letters of intent, initial clinical trials protocols, and protocol amendments.

Previously, she worked as the Senior Regulatory Coordinator for Genitourinary Medical Oncology group at the Duke Cancer Center. Prior to pivoting to clinical research, she completed post-doctoral work in Duke University School of Medicine’s Radiation Oncology department, where she performed pre-clinical work that paved the way for Phase 1/2 and Phase 2 studies in head and neck cancer and high-grade glioma patients, respectively.

Dr. Ashcraft has a PhD in Microbiology and Immunology from the Penn State University College of Medicine. Her dissertation focused on the effects of psychological stress and associated increases in glucocorticoids on the cell-mediated immune response to mucosal Herpes Simplex Virus infection. She received her BS in Microbiology from Juniata College.
