Research Study Group – Science Writing

Please join us for a panel discussion on the career path of becoming a professional scientific writer and editor. Leslie Bunce, a consulting medical writer and editor for UNC’s Center for Women’s Health Research, will answer questions related to the field of scientific writing and editing. Leslie’s responsibilities are broad, encompassing the coordination of efforts to conceive, write, plan, and implement translational and clinical research. Her goal is to advance basic biomedical research, and, at the same time, facilitate it’s translation to clinical applications to benefit public health. Leslie has held several positions that prepared her for her career, ranging from an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Rochester School of Medicine, a Medical Safety Officer for Quintiles and INC Research, and Consultant and Contract Medical Writer for several pharmaceutical companies and academic institutions. Please join us for a lively discussion of her career path and the scientific writing & editing profession.
