Dr. Gross will discuss the need to sharpen the focus of our cancer-related research, clinical, and policy efforts on patients and populations that have been marginalized by society and overlooked by the health system. Highlighting the work of colleagues at Yale’s Cancer Outcomes Public Policy & Effectiveness Research (COPPER) Center, we will discuss a novel collaboration with the state’s Department of Corrections to explore the relation between incarceration and cancer detection, treatment, and outcomes. We will also explore age-related bias in drug development, evidence generation, and how it impacts patient outcomes.
The Cancer Outcomes Research Program Breakfast Seminar Series is organized by Drs. Ethan Basch and Stephanie Wheeler. Please arrive at 7:45am to join us for a hot breakfast buffet prior to the start of our 8:00am meeting. Parking is available at the Rams Head parking deck next door; we will give you vouchers to park for free.
