This presentation will include examples from epidemiologic studies of breast and prostate cancers. Aggressive subsets of each disease are characterized by hormone independence, and both have been linked to race disparities in incidence and mortality in the United States. Notably, disparities in mortality are intrinsically linked to patient interactions with the US healthcare system – namely access to timely and appropriate treatment. This presentation will discuss integrative approaches to examining etiology and access, including use of qualitative and quantitative approaches.
The Cancer Outcomes Research Program Virtual Seminar Series is organized by Drs. Ethan Basch and Stephanie Wheeler. Please log into the Zoom meeting between 7:45 am and 8:00 am to help us take attendance prior to the meeting so we can start on time.
