Currently, all approved and publicly funded cancer drugs received a one-time health technology assessment at the time of market entry based on clinical trials evidence and economic projections prior to market entry in Canada. Subsequent evolving evidence and the real-world performance of these drugs were not used by policy decision-makers to reassess their real-world effectiveness, safety and cost-effectiveness. This presentation outlines the Canadian Real-world Evidence for Value of Cancer Drugs Collaboration (CanREValue) framework we are developing to provide guidance for the generation and use of real-world evidence of cancer drugs post market entry to inform health technology reassessment to guide revision of reimbursement criteria, re-negotiation of price and potential role of disinvestment.
The Cancer Outcomes Research Program Virtual Seminar Series is organized by Drs. Ethan Basch, Stephanie Wheeler, and Matthew Nielsen. Please log into the Zoom meeting between 7:45 am and 8:00 am to help us take attendance prior to the meeting so we can start on time.
