Despite evidence that screening for colorectal cancer saves lives, it remains the second leading cause of cancer deaths in the U.S. with persistent racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic disparities. In this presentation, I will provide an overview of existing disparities in screening and outcomes and review how social determinants of health influence these observations. Informed by our research program, I will provide a framework to create and implement strategies that reduce colorectal cancer disparities and lead to equitable health outcomes in colorectal cancer and beyond.
