Health communication science has been a priority for the National Cancer Institute (NCI) for over two decades, since its identification as an “extraordinary opportunity for investment” in the NCI Budget Proposal for FY 2001. The Health Communication and Informatics Research Branch (HCIRB) — the only research branch at NIH focused on communication research — continues to lead efforts to realize the promise of this investment in a rapidly changing communication landscape. This presentation will focus on current health communication research priorities at NCI, including cancer communication surveillance, health misinformation, technology-mediated communication, and patient-centered cancer communication.
The Cancer Outcomes Research Program Virtual Seminar Series is organized by Drs. Ethan Basch and Stephanie Wheeler. Please log into the Zoom meeting between 7:45 am and 8:00 am to help us take attendance prior to the meeting so we can start on time.
