Arrianna Marie Planey is a medical geographer whose work is focused on the nexus of accessibility and quality of care. Her ongoing work incudes studies of the moderating role of travel burdens for cancer care on the relationship between financial toxicity and health-related quality of life (HRQoL) among rural cancer patients and survivors. She is also studying the relationship between extreme weather events and timely cancer screening receipt among rural-dwelling adults. Her other work focuses on pregnancy and birth outcomes, hospital systems’ contributions to community health and economic development, and health workforce modelling. She collaborates widely across disciplinary boundaries to address pressing questions in public health and health service research.
