Javed Mostafa, Professor at UNC’s iSchool (SILS) & Biomedical Research Imaging Center (SoM). He currently serves as the NIH-NLM Biomedical Health Informatics & Data Science Training Director at UNC and the Director of the Carolina Health Informatics Program (http://chip.unc.edu). His research focuses on health care improvement using large-scale document/data repositories, including the use of health information architecture such as EHR or databases such as ClinicalTrials.Gov to inform clinical decision- making. His passion for translating scientific advance into healthcare improvement led him to co-found Keona Health, a company concentrating on patient-centric decision support and streamlined care workflow. At UNC, he serves as the Deputy Director of the Biomedical Informatics Core at the NC Translational & Clinical Sciences Institute and has current research engagements in biomedical data mining, analysis, visualization, user interface design, and multi-modal human-computer interaction.
