Lorinda Coombs, PhD is a clinician scientist with a focus on improving patient centered outcomes across metastatic cancer, and for older adults. Her current funded work encompasses developing a values assessment tool to support awareness and communication of patient values in metastatic cancer, identifying the barriers to earlier diagnosis using mixed method approach and a collaboration with the Shep’s Center for Health Workforce Research on assessing the Advanced Practice Registered Nursing workforce in North Carolina. She is currently on the Board of Directors for Advanced Practitioner Society for Hematology and Oncology (APSHO). Dr. Coombs collaborates with other members of the Cancer Outcomes Research Group including Dr. Caroline Thompson, Dr. Jenny Lund, and Dr. Ashley Bryant. In her minimal spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and learning to play the piano well (a lifelong endeavor).
