Dr. Yang Claire Yang is a biodemographer and medical sociologist interested in the interplay of social behavioral and biological mechanisms underlying social disparities in aging and health and their changes over the life course. She uses a consortium of population-based data on vital statistics, household surveys, and biomarkers and new statistical methodologies of cohort analysis in research on models of the age patterns and temporal changes of cancer incidence and mortality in US adults, diverse interactive biobehavioral pathways (e.g., social stress and isolation, inflammation, and obesity) leading to cancer risks and survival, and the links between early-life conditions and later life disease development.
