Jeremy Meier was born in Syracuse, NY, and he has lived all over the east coast including Rhode Island, Georgia, Virginia, and now North Carolina. Jeremy did his undergraduate work at the University of Virginia (wahoowa!) and went on to Virginia Commonwealth University to complete his MD and PhD studies where his thesis work was focused on JAK/STAT biology. Jeremy came to UNC for his medicine residency and heme/onc fellowship with a clinical focus in malignant hematology. Jeremy has research interests in signal transduction, immunology, and immunometabolism, and he is currently working on CAR-T cell biology and how these cells intersect with the tumor microenvironment.

In his spare time, Jeremy and his family like to explore the many park systems and trails around the area. Jeremy is also a huge college basketball fan and is enjoying being in the epicenter of the college basketball world.
