Aggressive end-of-life care for patients with advanced cancer is considered a marker of poor quality, but it is often difficult to know when a patient is near the end of life. Our team is working to create a prognostic model to identify patients with metastatic breast cancer who are at high risk of death within the next 30 days, using ASCO’s CancerLinQ Discovery database. In this talk, I will discuss our modeling approach and some of the strengths and limitations of CancerLinQ Discovery based on our experience to date.
The Cancer Outcomes Research Program Virtual Seminar Series is organized by Drs. Ethan Basch, Stephanie Wheeler, and Matthew Nielsen. Please log into the Zoom meeting between 7:45 am and 8:00 am to help us take attendance prior to the meeting so we can start on time.
