CCSP/Palliative Care Grand Rounds

 

Welcome to CCSP/Palliative Care Grand Rounds

The Palliative Care and Comprehensive Cancer Support Programs (CCSP) co-organize weekly presentations on the care of seriously ill patients and their families, including individuals living with cancer, relevant to interdisciplinary clinicians. Individual topics address pain and symptom management, communication approaches with patients and families, strategies to facilitate coping and support, quality improvement and research in these disciplines.

Christina Vaughan, MD, MHS

Palliative Care in Neurology

 

Bio:

Christina Vaughan, MD, MHS, is an associate professor of Neurology and Medicine at the University of Colorado, Anschutz Medical Campus and Chief of the section of Neuro-palliative Care. She completed fellowships in Movement Disorders at Rush University and in Palliative medicine at UCSD/Scripps. She has neuro-palliative clinics at the Univ of Colorado Anschutz Medical center and at the Rocky Mntn VA where she sees patients with a multitude of chronic neurologic diseases. She also attends the inpatient Palliative Care service at UC Health Hospital. In her role as clinician-educator she is heavily involved in teaching at all levels of medical training and is also participating in several clinical research projects assessing the unique palliative care needs in populations such as those with early onset dementia and refractory epilepsy. She is a palliative care coach for the Parkinson’s Fdn and involved with a national project to implement palliative care for people living with PD in community-based neurology practices.
