Welcome to CCSP/Palliative Care Grand Rounds

The Palliative Care and Comprehensive Cancer Support Programs (CCSP) co-organize weekly presentations on the care of seriously ill patients and their families, including individuals living with cancer, relevant to interdisciplinary clinicians. Individual topics address pain and symptom management, communication approaches with patients and families, strategies to facilitate coping and support, quality improvement and research in these disciplines.

The Importance of Sexual Function post Cancer Treatment: A Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist’s Perspective

Bio:

Andrea Gutierrez was born and raised in Southern California and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in exercise science at California State University-Northridge. She then completed her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at Azusa Pacific University. She has been a pelvic floor physical therapist for 9 years and in 2018 earned her Pelvic Rehab Practitioner Certification. She has a passion for treating patients with  chronic pelvic pain. Blessed by location, she has worked with numerous patients referred by various physicians from USC, UCLA, City of Hope oncology hospital and Cedar’s Sinai. She joined the UNC Durham/Hillsborough pelvic floor team two years ago.
