Perinatal Palliative Care

Register to Attend via Zoom Webinar

Dr. Regina McPherson is a current fellow in UNC’s Hospice & Palliative Medicine Fellowship. She was born and raised in Greenville, South Carolina. She went to undergrad at the University of South Carolina (Go Gamecocks!), and she was fortunate to do a semester abroad in Rome, Italy. After college, she spent a year traveling abroad, then she returned to the US to attend medical school at MUSC in beautiful Charleston, SC. She moved to Mobile, Alabama to complete her residency in Internal Medicine & Pediatrics at the University of South Alabama. She stayed on an additional year at South Alabama to serve as a Chief Resident in the Department of Internal Medicine. During her residency training, Regina became aware of the growing need for palliative care across adult and pediatric care settings, and she is excited to be a part of UNC’s HPM family to expand her knowledge on end-of-life care, symptom management, and communication skills.
Regina got married during residency to her husband, Zach, and they have a beautiful daughter named Isabella. They have a sweet, old rescue dog named Clyde, who loves to catch all of Isabella’s discarded snacks. They are thrilled to be living in the Triangle area due to the many trails/parks, delicious restaurants, and amazing weather.
