Dear UNC Lineberger Cancer Network Friend,    

I hope you were able to spend some relaxing time with family and friends during the holidays. I want to wish you the very best for the year ahead from the entire UNC Lineberger Cancer Network team.  

The bird in the photo is a pileated woodpecker. It is one of three types of woodpeckers in the woods where we live, but by far the most elusive. You hear them quite a bit, and they sound a lot like monkeys, but this is the first time one (actually part of pair) that sat still long enough for me to snap a photo.
