Multidisciplinary Approach to Reducing Racial Disparities in Cancer Care

This interactive webinar brings together multidisciplinary oncology healthcare team members in a roundtable format to discuss the impact of racial disparities on the care of cancer patients.

Each member of the panel will provide a unique perspective on healthcare disparities focusing on access to care, communication barriers, and immune-related Adverse Events (irAEs) and identifying ways to address these issues appropriately and effectively.

Educational Outcomes

Delineate the impact of cancer in Black patients and assess how healthcare disparities limit effective diagnosis, treatment, and disease management for this patient population.

Educational Objectives

Upon completion of this educational activity, participants should be able to:

  • Describe the impact of cancer in the Black population
  • Recognize how healthcare disparities limit optimal diagnosis, treatment and management of this patient population
  • Develop and/or adopt practices to promote open communications, timely diagnosis, and effective treatment strategies to foster equitable care for all patients

Intended Audience

This activity is designed to meet the educational needs of multidisciplinary oncology care team members involved in the management of patients with cancer including medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, internists, physician assistants, pharmacists, nurse practitioners, nurses, nurse navigators, social workers, rehabilitation specialists, community educators, and patient advocates.
