Well-designed patient-reported outcomes (PROs) are essential to better understand and identify the multiple, significant physical and psychosocial needs of adolescents and young adults (AYAs) with cancer. However, description is not enough and we need to identify actionable strategies for meeting AYAs’ needs and reducing adverse outcomes. In this talk, Dr. Salsman will highlight recent efforts to: (1) develop new measures of financial hardship for AYAs and their caregivers, (2) identify when financial hardship is most salient and for which group of AYAs, and (3) refine a multi-level strategy to address financial hardship among AYAs treated in community-based oncology practices.

The Cancer Outcomes Research Program Breakfast Seminar Series is organized by Drs. Ethan Basch and Stephanie Wheeler. Please arrive at 7:45am to join us for a hot breakfast buffet prior to the start of our 8:00am meeting. Parking is available at the Rams Head parking deck next door – we will gather information prior to the semester start to distribute parking QR codes. We can also validate parking individually so parking is free.
