ASCO Social Determinants of Health (SDOH)

ASCO Social Determinants of Health (SDOH) Focus Group recently launched a new education series on the role of social determinants of health in patient care and cancer outcomes. The first SDOH and Cancer Care episode launched on October 1, 2020, across all of ASCO’s social media, and the episode can be found on YouTube as well. Episodes and podcasts on this important topic will be released monthly.

The video features the following distinguished health researchers whose work focused on disparities:

  • ASCO president Dr. Lori Pierce, MD, professor of radiation oncology at the University of Michigan.
  • Katherine Reeder-Hayes, PhD, MPH, associate professor of oncology and health services researcher from UNC Chapel Hill, also chair of the ASCO Health Equity Committee.
