Der lab finds promising drug to fight pancreatic cancer
In the lab of Channing Der, PhD, researchers believe they have found a promising strategy to target a type of pancreatic cancer that is notoriously resistant to treatment—pancreatic cancer that has a mutation in a gene called KRAS.

Baldwin receives NCI Outstanding Investigator Award
Albert S. Baldwin, UNC Lineberger’s associate director of basic research and the William Rand Kenan Professor of Biology at UNC, will receive nearly $5.9 million across seven years as a recipient of the National Cancer Institute's Outstanding Investigator Award. He is the second UNC Lineberger researcher to receive the award behind Stephen Hursting, who is studying the link between obesity and cancer.

UNC Lineberger teams help make Pancreatic Cancer Purple Stride 5K a success
The 2014 Pancreatic Cancer Purple Stride 5K raised over $200,000 raised to support pancreatic cancer awareness and research. UNC Lineberger’s very own TEAM UNC and the Der Lab Team were the top two Purple Stride fundraising teams.
