For Researchers

  • UNC Lineberger Developmental Funding Program: The Innovation Awards are intended to support the cancer research innovations led by faculty, research staff, fellows and postdocs. The objective is to stimulate new applications for extramural funding.
  • Investigator Initiated Trials: Helping make your clinical trial concept into a fully operational reality. 
  • Oncology Protocol Review Committee: The PRC reviews investigator initiated, industry sponsored and cooperative group research protocols prior to submission of the protocol to the UNC Institutional Review Board (IRB).
  • MaTRIC: Provides centralized project management services for UNC Lineberger population science researchers, and offers resources on effective research management practices for any UNC Lineberger-affiliated faculty or staff member.

Patient Research Participation & Opportunities

  • Patient Advocates for Research Council (PARC): PARC at UNC Lineberger provides researchers with the perspectives and experiences of patients, survivors and caregivers on issues associated with clinical studies and projects.
  • Lineberger Excellence in Advocacy Program (LEAP): Cancer patients, survivors, caregivers and community members are invited to become advocates with our cancer center. Advocates work with staff and researchers to guide our programs and research studies.
  • Patients And Researchers Together (PART): The PART Program is a partnership between patients, advocates, researchers and other key stakeholders to motivate patients to donate the tissue that researchers need to create new and meaningful treatments for cancer.
