Area of Interest
My research group is looking into feasible and evidence-based methods to improve secondary prevention of cervical cancer in Africa. In particular, we work to improve access to HPV, and precancer treatment in these settings as part of the WHO-endorsed single-visit “screen & treat” strategy. We are also investigating the feasibility – safety, acceptability, adherence, and efficacy – of topical, self-administered antiviral therapies as primary HPV & cervical precancer treatment or as adjuvant therapy to improve the efficacy of current precancer treatment methods in HIV-positive women, the majority of whom live in low- and middle-income countries.
