Area of interest
Jonathan Lindsey’s research has been focused on the new synthetic approaches of bioorganic chemistry, photochemistry, materials chemistry, and the life sciences.
Research is now being focused on the capabilities in organic chemistry in relation to cancer. His research is focused on: (1) leveraging our knowledge in tetrapyrrole photochemistry to develop new fluorophores and new strategies for flow cytometry with specific applications to cancer diagnostics, and (2) developing new approaches for cancer therapeutics, particularly for targeted molecular brachytherapy. Both areas require parallel research tracks in basic science and in translational development.
