Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Grand Rounds: Functional Characterization of BRIP1 Missense Alleles Identified in Ovarian and Early-Onset Breast Cancer

February 13, 2020 @ 8:30 am - 9:30 pm

The research of Paul Goodfellow, PhD, a professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Ohio State and a member of the OSUCCC – James Molecular Carcinogenesis and Chemoprevention Program, centers on understanding the role that loss of DNA-mismatch repair plays in uterine tumor initiation and progression, and on learning how key molecular events can be used to develop novel approaches to prevent and treat endometrial cancers. His group also investigates novel ovarian and breast cancer susceptibility factors. He has published more than 200 papers in genetics and oncology specialty journals. He is the co-holder of two patents: one for a method of diagnosing, classifying and treating endometrial cancer and pre-cancer, and another for compositions, methods and kits to detect DICER-gene mutations.
