Palliative Care is at a critical juncture with the transformative process reshaping our healthcare system. There is growing consensus about the value and importance of integrating palliative care within any serious illness, yet there is still a lack of access to palliative care resources in many settings. There is also a great need for integrating palliative care discussions within the communities and rural settings.
This conference brings together presenters and participants with the aim of advancing a common understanding and a level of expertise in palliative care, throughout the healthcare continuum and in community settings. Join us as we seek to promote a better understanding of what palliative care is; to explore best practice approaches in different settings and to foster professional reflection and sharing.

Medical and Surgical Oncology lectures offer CNE, ASRT, and CME continuing education credit (upon approval) for eligible participants. We invite anyone interested to view our lectures. Please join the UNC Cancer Network for an online telehealth lecture with Trevor A. Jolly, MBBS. Age is the single most important risk factor for developing cancer and the incidence of most human cancers increases with advancing age. This lecture will examine the clinical utility of simple geriatric assessment tools and illustrates, using case-based scenarios, how such tools can be used to guide interventions and treatment decisions in this patient population. RN and Allied Health lectures offer CNE and ASRT continuing education credit (upon approval) for eligible participants. We invite anyone interested to view our lectures. Lectures are viewable online via GoToWebinar or by participating in the lecture at one of our designated viewing sites.
