Please join the UNC Cancer Network for an online, interactive lecture with Susan Gaylord, PhD. Prolonged stress can have a negative impact on the body and brain. Mind-body practices can help to manage stress and enhance well-being. This presentation introduces mindfulness as a useful technique for managing stress-related conditions and improving brain and body health. Community Lunch and Learn lectures are geared toward cancer patients, survivors, family, friends, and care givers/supports but anyone interested in learning more about cancer is welcome to join us. Every lecture has a question and answer section at the end so feel free to ask the presenter for clarification or more information. Lectures are viewable online via GoToWebinar or by participating in the lecture at one of our designated viewing sites. The presentation will also share information about special considerations for caring for patients with this diagnosis and information that can be shared with all individuals about ways to prevent this type of cancer. The National Cancer Institute-funded Geographical Management of Cancer Health Disparities Program (GMaP) Region 1-South, including North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee, will host a free one-day symposium at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill on March 9, 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. ET. This symposium aims to allow researchers to exchange cancer health disparities research findings, network with other scholars, promote research collaborations and learn about NCI Continuing Umbrella of Research Experiences (CURE) Program Funding. Center for Nanotechnology in Drug Delivery, UNC-Chapel Hill

The Carolina Nanoformulation Workshop is a unique training workshop about nanotechnology-based approaches to address pharma and biopharma needs for delivery of clinically relevant molecules. This workshop consists of a three-day lecture/seminar block and two days of hands-on, practical training and discussion in the Center for Nanotechnology in Drug Delivery research laboratories at UNC-Chapel Hill. In preparation for the live sessions, participants will have access to pre-workshop recorded lectures by the workshop speakers one month prior to the workshop.
