UNC Lineberger’s Associate Director of Administration David Darr has been elected as president of the Association of Cancer Center Administrators. He will serve as president-elect until March 2025, when he becomes president of the organization.
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to work with a truly great team at UNC Lineberger who are excellent at what they do,” Darr said. “As president, I want to share the successes we’ve achieved at UNC Lineberger, as well as the challenges we’ve experienced, with the ACCA members, and to learn from them about their successes and challenges and bring that knowledge back to our cancer center.”
The Association of Cancer Center Administrators was founded to advocate, support, educate, and help professionally develop the staff who lead the various areas of the cancer centers that are designated or are working toward the designation by the National Cancer Institute.
Darr currently serves as ACCA’s treasurer and is active in other external cancer organizations, including the Association of American Cancer Institutes. He also sits on the external advisory board for several cancer centers and has been a member of several NCI cancer center site visit teams.
