by Tim Poe, Director of Telehealth

The UNC Cancer Network is pleased to announce that a report is now available, detailing many of the activities that occurred during 2016.

We are extremely grateful to many talented individuals and organizations across North Carolina that make our work possible, and to the North Carolina General Assembly for the creation and ongoing support of the University Cancer Research Fund. The report may be viewed at: https://unclineberger.org/unclcn/about-unccn/images/unccn-2016-end-of-year-report .

Highlights of 2016 include:

  • A total of 12 Community Lunch and Learn Lectures, reaching a total of 492 participants.
  • A total of 2 NC Community College pilot lectures, reaching 217 participants.

Support

  • Supporting a variety of events and functions across over 20 different conferencing and event spaces in Chapel Hill and Carrboro, in addition to limited support for video facilities around the state.

Looking ahead into 2017, we are extremely excited about efforts to expand our mission (see: Mission, Vision, and Values) via various endeavors, including:

  • Implementation of a new LMS to deliver enduring materials, allowing clinicians to receive credit for viewing lectures at any time.
  • Live Get Real & HEEL fitness sessions over video.
  • Four new lectures for our Community College Oncology Lecture series.

We hope that you will take time to review the entire report at the link listed above. We look forward to your questions and suggestions.
