NCCC Lecture: End-of-Life Care Options for Patients with Cancer

Please join the UNC Cancer Network and the NC Community Colleges for an online, interactive oncology lecture. Christine Kistler, MD, MASc will discuss the end-of-life care options that are available to patients experiencing cancer. She will also discuss resources that are available to family members during the cancer journey. Every lecture has a question and answer (Q & A) section at the end, so feel free to ask the presenters for clarification or more information. This First Annual Chromatin and Epigenetics Symposium will occur on the afternoon of December 7 in the Medical Biomolecular Research Building, room G-202. Invited speakers are Minkui Luo, PhD, of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and Alea A. Mills, PhD, of Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory. The event will also feature three trainee talks, a poster session, and reception. Abstract submission deadline November 17, 2017.

A cancer diagnosis can be devastating at any phase of life, and particularly difficult for adolescents and young adults. Lauren Lux, LCSW, is the Adolescent and Young Adult Program Director with the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center. She will join us to discuss practical strategies that may be used by family members, friends, and the community at large to support the needs of adolescents and young adults with cancer.
