UNC Lineberger was well represented at the Society of Gynecologic Oncology 2023 Annual Meeting on Women’s Cancer in Tampa, Florida, with faculty and trainees presenting research findings, receiving honors and being elected to leadership roles.

Victoria Bae-Jump, MD, PhD, professor of gynecologic oncology, was presented with an Innovation Award, an honor that recognizes her for significantly impacting the understanding of and/or approaches to the prevention, diagnosis or treatment of gynecologic cancers.

John Soper, MD, professor of gynecologic oncology, received the Surgical Mentor Award for his commitment to mentoring surgical fellows.


Leadership

Bae-Jump was elected to the SGO board of directors.


Wendy Brewster, MD, PhD, professor of gynecologic oncology, is president-elect of SGO and will serve her term in 2024-25.
