UNC Lineberger’s Stephanie Wheeler, PhD, MPH, professor of health policy & management at the Gillings School of Global Public Health and associate director of UNC Lineberger Community Outreach and Engagement, participated in the President’s Cancer Panel on reducing cancer care inequities in New Orleans on Oct. 17.
Wheeler, along with other invitees from cancer centers across the country, discussed reducing cancer care inequities and leveraging technology to enhance patient navigation.
The President’s Cancer Panel was established in 1971 as part of the National Cancer Act. The panel is charged with holding fact-finding meetings on select topics, getting input from key stakeholders and presenting its findings and recommendations to the President.
